50 Sporting Charity Clay Shoot 2010

The Guildford & District Gun Club have once again been invited by the Surrey Agricultural Society to organise a 50 Sporting Charity Clay Shoot at Loseley Park as part of their Country Fair and Ploughing Match on Sunday 26th September 2010.

The High Gun will be presented with the Surrey Agricultural Society Shield and there will be other trophies and prizes to be won in the Open, Ladies and Junior classes, along with a 40 Clay Flush Stand and the ever popular Have A Go Stand.

For the Side by Side shooters there are two classes, as the Surrey Committee of the CPSA are holding their Countryman Shoot at this event, but non Surrey CPSA members and any non CPSA members are very welcome to shoot here.
For the top Surrey CPSA shooter they will be presented with the Countryman Trophy, and for the other shooters the winner will receive the Loseley Cup.

The committee of the Guildford & District Gun Club look forward to welcoming shooting enthusiasts from the surrounding areas and hope they have an enjoyable day with us.

Cyprus 2009:

By invitation of the Northern Cyprus Shooting Sports Federation,
Peter and I attended the XI Dr. Fazil Kucuk Sports Grand Prix.
Which included 12 sports including Clay Shooting.

Peter entered the Olympic Skeet, and Paul signed up for the Olympic Trap.
The competition was over 3 days, and was held at the Gonyeli Gun Club, near Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus.

The weather was scorching, but fantastic - a total of 68 competitors from England, Scotland, Jersey, Turkey and of course Cyprus shot. With of course the 'home' shooters having the advantage - it's their home ground!!!
Nett result was that Peter and Charlie (Sussex junior) secured silver in the team skeet event, Charlie took junior silver (O/Skeet),
and Paul took Vets silver (O/Trap).

It must have been the GDGC red hat that did it!!!

The event is repeated ever year so if any members fancy making up a group for 2010 I know they wil be most welcome.
